I'm getting excited just thinking about it all. The inside will have tons of climbing features (rock walls, ledges, etc), a level amount of substrate, a heated water station (it may not need to be heated depending on how well the inside temps can be maintained), and more. It will have outside and inside controls (if I could get it all synced up on some homekit kind of set up that would be even better too), automated doors, I'm thinking maybe even make a little food pocket where you can just drop the food in, security alarms (idk who would have the stones to steal a monitor but you never know), and cameras. However, I'm sure there will be times when it has rained where the humidity will be much higher so it wouldn't have to run all the time. What about humidity? Would a mister be ideal for this? I like the mist king because of that hygrostat it has but I'm sure I would need a very large reservoir and lots of valves to accomplish misting such a large enclosure.

I'm sure this can be accomplished by running some sort of raspberry pi sort of set up. I definitely want the lights to be programmed to dim thoroughout the day to allow for different simulated daylight times which would be more naturalistic for the animal.

Would a heater be better for keeping the ambient heat up in that sort of enclosure? Maybe on a timer that has it running at different levels throughout the day? I mean I would of course install all necessary lighting (uvb, heat, etc) but how else could the temp be maintained without providing very large heat output bulbs? I didn't know about the marine epoxy but that makes sense to protect it against the elements. Then have like a wire mesh cage that connects to the shed or goes around it so the animal can get out and bask in actual sun. Get a shed and insulate it for heat and cold. My cages are either on casters for the smaller ones or framed underneath to avoid this. This is a problem with wooden cages as well if done wrong. The floor is a giant heat sink that sucks the heat out of the substrate making it too cold. A big problem people have is when a cage is sitting on a concrete slab with no space between the substrate and the floor.

I haven't built a cage like that so I can't comment on the how to but you will need to insulate the floor or run heating in the substrate. You could also use cement and cinder block if you have a permanent situation. I use west systems epoxy to seal all my vivs. You will need to use a good sealer to ensure it won't rot. The easiest is a plywood box with framing to support the weight, a big enclosure will have a literal ton or more of the soil needed. There are lots of ways to skin that cat depending on the situation.
